More than 600 events and activities took place worldwide between 18 and 24 November 2019 to mark the World Antibiotic Awareness Week (WAAW) 2019.
Organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) every year, WAAW is celebrated by governments, health facilities, schools and communities across the globe. The campaign highlights best practices among the general public, health workers and policy makers to help stop the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance.
Below are some of the materials and resources developed by the WHO for this year’s campaign:
- Download the ‘WHO: Antimicrobial Resistance’ app and help spread global awareness and increase education on AMR
- Watch a Facebook Live Q&A held at the WHO headquarters on 20 November on how to use antibiotics responsibly and help stop the spread of antibiotic resistance
